Day 1 Arrive in Hong Kong

Once your flight lands in Hong Kong International Airport, our professional guide and driver will meet you at the exit and transfer you to your hotel. There is no sightseeing arranged today so you can rest to recover from jet lag or do some expedition on your own.

Day 2 Hong Kong Sightseeing [B]

Today, you'll first visit the floating community of Aberdeen,where is well-known for its fishing village customs village and floating seafood restaurants. It's great experience to have a sampan (small boat) ride at this picturesque harbor. Then we will have a tour to Repulse Bay, and enjoy the beautiful beach with soft sand and gentle waves. It's now one of the most exclusive residential areas in Hong Kong. Afterwards, catch a tram up to Victoria Peak-the highest point on the Hong Kong Island, and from there you can have stunning panoramic views of the city. Stay overnight in Hong Kong.

Day 3 Hong Kong Sightseeing / train to Guangzhou [B]

Today, you'll have a memorable day at Ocean Park, the world class theme park complete with white-knuckle rides, atoll reef, giant pandas, rainforest and an amazing aquarium. In the late afternoon or evening, you'll board the Kowloon-Guangzhou train to mainland China. The train ride takes about 2 hours, and transfer to hotel after arrival. Stay overnight in Guangzhou.

Day 4 Guangzhou to Lhasa by train [B]

Today, get on the train to Lhasa from Guangzhou Railway Station. The train departs at 11:45 in the morning, and arrives in Lhasa at 16:19 the day after tomorrow. The duration is about 52.5 hours with 2 nights on the train. Overnight in the train.

Day 5 Sightseeing on the train [B]

You'll spend the whole day on the train today. Great views of vast plains dotted with flocks and herds in far distance will accompany you along the way. Cross hundreds of miles of desolate lands on the high plateau and top out the highest point-Tanggu-la Pass at 5231m during the train journey. Make yourself relaxed and witness this engineering marvel. Overnight in the train.

Day 6 Arrive in Lhasa [B]

Today, arrive in Lhasa, and welcome the roof of the world! Our guide will meet you at airport or train station. Then drive to downtown of Lhasa and transfer to your hotel. Have a good rest for adapting to the high attitude. It is helpful to take things easy and drink enough water for the day of your arrival. Day 7 Lhasa Sightseeing [B]

Today, you'll have a tour to Lhasa's cardinal landmark and a UNESCO World Heritage Site-Potala Palace. Renowned as one of the great wonders on earth for its elaborate architecture built at an elevation of 3700m, this awe-inspiring palace will not disappoint you. In the afternoon, pay a visit to Jokhang Temple, the most respected shrine in Tibet. Thick with the smell of incense and yak butter, you'll witness a throng of prostrating pilgrims cramming out there. The temple is the masterpiece of Tibetan, Chinese and Nepalese architectural techniques. Then take a stroll around the Barkhor Street, the oldest bazaar in the city. You'll also enjoy a welcome dinner gathering with all travel mates in the group after the sightseeing activities. Overnight in Lhasa.

Day 8 Lhasa Sightseeing [B]

Morning, you'll visit Drepung Monastery, whichlocates about 8km west of central Lhasa and was once one of the world's largest monasteries with the population of around 10,000 monks in its heyday. Climb uphill through the whitewashed intersecting alleyways as well as the medieval chapels, and enjoy the panoramic view of the city on top of the mountain. In the afternoon, you'll have a chance to witness the famous 'Scriptures Debating' session at Sera Monastery, spectating their featured way of Buddhist dialectics and hand slapping in a landscaped courtyard with lush trees. Day 9 Fly back home [B]
