June 25 of 2022 is the first anniversary of the opening and operation of the Lhasa-Nyingchi Railway. Lhasa-Nyingchi Railway is an important part of the Sichuan-Tibet Railway and the first electrified railway in Tibet. The total length of the railway is 435 kilometers, with a design speed of 160 kilometers per hour. By May 31, 2022, 1.03 million passengers and 36900 tons of goods had been transported.
Lhasa-Nyingchi Railway is located in the southeast of the Tibet Autonomous Region of China. The line crosses the valley of southern Tibet between the Gangdise Mountains and the Nyainqentanglha Mountains and the Himalayas, with a maximum altitude of 3700 meters. The line leads from Xierong Station of Lhasa-Shigatse Railway, passes through the Gangdise Mountains to the Yarlung Zangbo River Valley in the south, passes through Zhabao County of Shannan Prefecture, Naidong District, Sangri County, Jiacha County, Lang County and Milin County in the east, and then reaches the downtown of Nyingchi along the Niyang River, It has crossed the Yarlung Zangbo River for 16 times, with a total length of 403.144km.
