There are two civilian airports in Beijing but all the flights from Beijing to Lhasa flies from Beijing Capital International Airport. It is 25km from the city center.
No, it is not necessary to show your Tibet Permit when you check into the flight in your home country. You only need to show it when you change your boarding pass in Beijing airport for your flight to Lhasa. It is very nice if you stay overnight in Beijing since we can mail your permit to your hotel. Otherwise we can only send someone to deliver the permit to Beijing airport for you.
In order to get the best price, it is good to avoid the peak season for Tibet tour and book the tickets early for discounted price. The high season for Tibet tour is from April to October and the flights are always expensive unless you seize the opportunity of special offer. Besides, the flight prices during Chinese National Holiday and Lunar New Year Period are in large demand and very expensive. If your travel date is flexible, it is better to avoid this period. Sometimes, the direct flight from Beijing to Lhasa is very expensive but you can save a lot if you fly to Chengdu or Chongqing and then change to flight for Lhasa.
For flights flying between Lhasa and Beijing, the total dimensions (length + width + height, including wheels and handles) of each piece of luggage must not exceed 100cm (40*60*40cm). Passengers with adult ticket or child ticket, the free baggage allowance is 40kg for First Class, 30kg for Business Class and 20kg for Economy Class. For infant passengers, it is allowed to take a free checked-in luggage of no more than 10kg as well as a folding baby stroller(Tibet Airlines provides no free checked luggage for infant passengers).
As for carry-on luggage, each first-class passenger can bring two pieces of carry-on baggage, with each weighing no more than eight 8kg (5kg for Sichuan Airlines). Each business and economy lass passenger can bring one piece of carry-on baggage that weighs no more than 5kg (10kg for Tibet Airlines). The linear dimensions of each piece cannot exceed 20x40x55cm.

No, there is only flight from Beijing to Lhasa in Tibet. If you like to fly to other cities in Tibet, you can fly to Chengdu first and then connect to other parts in Tibet.
There are 3 terminals in Beijing Capital International Airport. T2 and T3 are for both international flight and domestic flight while T1 is for domestic flight of Hainan Airlines only. Your flights to Lhasa will leave from T2 or T3. It is 8km between these two terminals. It is better to take the shuttle bus which leaves every 10 minutes. You can take shuttle buses at Gate No. 7 arrival floor of T1, Gate No. 7 arrival floor of T2, Gate No. 5 arrival floor of T3. Considering all of these items, it is suggested you have about 3 hours for the connecting of flights.
