Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport is the major airport in Chongqing. At present, there are 10 flights between Chongqing and Lhasa, operated by Air China Airlines, Tibet Airlines, Sichuan Airlines and China Southern Airlines, etc.

Yes, it is very convenient to fly from Chongqing to Lhasa. There are many international flights to Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport and several flights to Lhasa everyday from morning to afternoon. Besides, Chongqing is the start or ending point of Yangtse River Cruise. It is very easy to combine with your China tour before or after Tibet tour.
There are 3 terminals in Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport. But now T1 is under reconstruction (from Aug. 29, 2017) while T2 is for domestic flights and T3 is for both domestic and international flights. Flights from Chongqing to Lhasa fly from T3 and T2. If you need to change flights between the two Terminals, you can take the shuttle bus at Gate No. 8, arrival floor at T3 or Gate 4 and 7, arrival floor or T2. It runs every 5 to 10 minutes and takes about 15 minutes.
Flying from Chongqing or any other cities in China to Lhasa, you need to show your passport, China visa as well as the original Tibet Permit. If you travel with friends or family but they fly into Lhasa from different city please do let us know so we can apply for separate permits for you since the entrance city on the permit has to be the same with your flight. After you get through the security check point, you do not need to show it again. Please keep the permit and give it back to our guide when you arrive in Lhasa. It is needed for the PSB application if you travel out of Lhasa. After you finish your tour, we need to return the permit back to Tibet Tourism Bureau.
In order to get the best price, it is good to avoid the peak season for Tibet tour and book the tickets early for discounted price. The high season for Tibet tour is from April to October and the flights are always expensive unless you seize the opportunity of special offer. Besides, the flight prices during Chinese National Holiday and Lunar New Year Period are in large demand and very expensive. If your travel date is flexible, it is better to avoid this period. BTW, China West Airlines always provide better prices.
For flights flying between Lhasa and Chongqing, the total dimensions (length + width + height, including wheels and handles) of each piece of luggage must not exceed 100cm(40*60*40cm). Passengers with adult ticket or child ticket, the free baggage allowance is 40kg for First Class, 30kg for Business Class and 20kg for Economy Class. For infant passengers, it is allowed to take a free checked-in luggage of no more than 10kg as well as a folding baby stroller.
As for carry-on luggage, each first-class passenger can bring two pieces of carry-on baggage, with each weighing no more than eight 5kg. Each business and economy lass passenger can bring one piece of carry-on baggage that weighs no more than 5kg. The linear dimensions of each piece cannot exceed 20x40x55cm.

Yes, besides of flights from Chongqing to Lhasa, there are also flights from Chongqing to Nyingchi, and Chamdo. The altitude in Nyingchi is relatively low and the scenery in Nyingchi is so much different from the other parts of Tibet, it is a wise idea to fly to Nyingchi first and then forward to Lhasa and other areas. Chamdo district is not open for foreign tourists for now.
Most tourists traveling to Tibet have some symptoms of altitude sickness such as feeling tired, drowsy, headache, etc. But you will feel better after one or two days there. It is suggested that you drink lots of water, rest a lot, walks less before you get accustomed to the altitude. But those who have heart disease, bronchitis, hypertension, diabetes should consult the doctor before visiting Tibet.
Yes, your guide will be at the airport for you. When you get out of the airport, please go to the parking lot where your guide will be waiting for you holding your name sign. For private tour, your guide will be there according to your flight arrival time. If you join in a group tour, we have certain airport pick up time. It is better if you book a flight around that time otherwise you might need to pay extra for arranging a private airport pick up.
